Quote-to-cash platform for a construction company

// The problem

This company was running a real construction operation out of spreadsheets, email, and a handful of disconnected tools. Quotes got built by hand off scattered price lists, orders lived somewhere else, purchase orders somewhere else again, and nobody could see where a job actually stood. Change orders and payments were the worst of it — easy to lose track of, and every gap was money left on the table.

// What I built

I built one system that follows a job end to end. Quoting pulls from a materials catalog with thousands of items, so a quote is fast and accurate instead of a guess. Approved quotes turn into orders, orders generate purchase orders to vendors, inventory updates as material moves, and payments and revenue recognition are tracked against each job. I added a customer portal with code-based approval so clients can review and sign off without an account, and a built-in chat so the office and the field are working off the same thread instead of texting each other.

// The result

It runs the business day to day: 130+ customers, ~100 quotes, 60+ orders, a 4,000+ item materials catalog, and thousands of audit entries tracking every change. The spreadsheets are gone, and there's a single source of truth from the first quote to the last payment. Built on Next.js, Prisma, and Postgres.
